| Onda Solare | World Solar Challenge |
Emilia II, faster than light.Quiet, inexhaustible, clean and free. Zero impact on the planet. We are talking about the energy from the sun, the same energy that will power the prototype Emilia II in its race from Darwin to Adelaide across 3,000 km of Australian desert. Emilia II is an electric car made almost entirely in carbon fibre, Kevlar and Nomex: a high efficiency vehicle powered by 6sqm of silicon photovoltaic cells. It took years of gestation with analyses, tests, trials and studies to confront, try out over and over again and manage to qualify for the starting grid and then race, the only Italian team, side by side with opponents from all over the world. Emilia II finally sees the light of day: the result of a passionate teamwork. A work of art moulded by a synergy of hands, minds and hearts beating as one in Onda Solare. Today it is possible to move from one place to another without polluting and fully respecting the ecosystem: Emilia II and Onda Solare have accepted the challenge and are ready to demonstrate this. |
